Postoje sportisti koji nas osvoje medaljama i rezultatima.
Posebno mesto u njenoj dosadašnjoj karijeri zauzimaju:
– titula MVP ligaškog dela kadetske lige,
– titula MVP-a finalnog turnira Triglav kadetske lige Srbije.
U disciplini.
U borbenosti.
Katarina Ristić – A Young Serbian Basketball Talent
There are athletes who win us over with their medals and achievements. And then there are those whose journey reminds us how great dreams are built — step by step, training session by training session, game by game.
One such young athlete is Katarina Ristić, a young basketball player for ŽKK Ras and a member of the Serbian National Team.
Katarina’s basketball journey began back in 2016, with her very first training session at the Ras Basketball School. Today, several years later, that same court has become the starting point of a journey that has taken her to the national-team jersey and the Serbian national emblem.
Standing at 190 cm, and combining talent, hard work and a genuine passion for basketball, Katarina has already taken significant steps forward in her young career. She has represented Serbia in the younger national-team categories, competed at the U16 and U18 European Championships, and achieved significant success with Ras at club level.
Alongside her demanding basketball commitments, Katarina is also a regular student at the Third Belgrade Gymnasium, specializing in Natural Sciences and Mathematics, where she maintains an outstanding 5.0 grade average. She is particularly proud of this achievement because it demonstrates that it is possible to successfully balance academic responsibilities, club commitments and national-team duties.
Among the most significant achievements of her career so far are:
- MVP of the regular season of the Serbian Cadet League
- MVP of the Triglav Serbian Cadet League Final Tournament. Katarina was the outstanding player of the Final Tournament, recording 56 index rating points, averaging 19 index points per game.
Another important milestone was her fourth-place finish at the recent FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship in Sweden in August this year, competing against some of the strongest young players in Europe.
But perhaps the most beautiful insight into Katarina’s character comes from one short sentence she once said:
“Basketball is life for me.”
And you can see it.
You can see it in her work ethic.
In her discipline.
In her competitiveness.
In her desire to become better every single day.
And in the courage it takes for a young woman to step onto the court wearing the national colors and the Serbian national emblem.
